The Texas Tech men’s basketball coach made a notable exception to join Jarrett Culver at the NBA draft in Brooklyn -- a good call.
The 6-6 Culver, who led Tech to the NCAA championship game as a sophomore, was taken with the sixth pick overall and will head to Minnesota as part of a trade that sent Dario Saric and the No. 11 pick to Phoenix.
While agreed to and widely reported, the deal won’t be official until next month.
“Just for me coming out of Lubbock and making it to the NBA, it's a blessing,” Culver said.
