DALLAS — David Beaty didn’t want to start his press conference talking about football.
The Kansas coach, who is the son of a Dallas police officer, had something more important to say when the Big 12 media days began Monday at the Omni Hotel in Dallas.
“As many of you know, I am from the Dallas area and my father is a police officer here. My heart hurts for the Dallas communities and for communities across the country that are suffering and in pain right now,” Beaty said. “I pray that we will begin to listen to one another, love one another and get to the hard work of healing our nation, to the issues that we’re facing right now.
