The season didn’t end the way Texas Tech thought it would, but the Red Raiders still had some breakout players in 2018.
Here are five Red Raiders who exceeded expectations in 2018.
1. Alan Bowman, QB: The freshman quarterback went from a perceived third-string quarterback to the Red Raiders not being able to win without him. After an injury to McLane Carter thrust him into the starting role, Bowman completed 69 percent of his passes for 2,638 yards and 17 touchdowns in eight games. Before a pesky partially collapsed lung ended his season prematurely, Bowman was on pace to lead the Big 12 in passing.
