SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State University President Denise M. Trauth and Director of Athletics Larry Teis announced Sunday that Everett Withers has been dismissed as the head football coach after three seasons with the Bobcats. Teis announced that Chris Woods will coach the Bobcats in their final game against Arkansas State this Saturday.
"I met with Coach Withers this morning to inform him of the University's decision," Teis said. "We are thankful for his contributions to our program. His teams performed well academically and were heavily involved in the San Marcos community.
