FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Texas State University senior quarterback Tyler Vitt is one of 93 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) student-athletes to receive consideration for the 2021 Wuerffel Trophy, the organization announced Thursday morning.
Vitt, who was also recently named a 2021 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee, appeared in eight games throughout the 2020 season. He completed 74 of 122 passes (60.66 percent) for 933 yards and nine touchdowns. On the ground, he was also credited with 129 rushing yards and a touchdown on 37 attempts.
Off the gridiron, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal caller from San Antonio, Texas by way of MacArthur HS assists with the program's annual Bobcat Giving Tree in conjunction with the Texas State cheerleading program and university police department.
