SAN MARCOS, Texas – Incoming Texas State freshman golfer Trace Martin has qualified to compete in the 72nd U.S. Junior Amateur July 15-20 at the historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. Martin tees off on the 10th hole at 12:58 p.m. (Central) in Monday's first round. He is paired with Jay Nimmo from Benton, Ky. and Canadian William Duquette of Laval, Quebec.
Martin earned a spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur after finishing second among 45 golfers at a sectional qualifier held at the Cimarron Hills Golf and Country Club in Georgetown, Texas.
A total of 3,496 entries were accepted to play in qualifying tournaments across the country from June 10-25.
