SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football team (0-1) mounted a late comeback, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Baylor Bears (1-0) as the Bobcats dropped a 29-20 decision in front of a crowd of 26,573 Saturday night at Bobcat Stadium.

Texas State's defense recovered a fumble, forced three punts, and held the Bears on downs in the fourth quarter. Troy Lefeged, Jr. recorded 10 tackles in his first game for the Bobcats, while Zion Childress had seven stops and forced a fumble.
The Bears outgained Texas State 386 -to-238 yards on offense, and scored eight points, intercepted three passes, and caused a safety on defense.
