NEW ORLEANS – After another standout performance between the posts this past weekend as the Texas State soccer team claimed its first-ever Sun Belt Conference regular season championship, Heather Martin was selected as the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
For Martin, it is the second straight year that she has received the Sun Belt's weekly honor three times. She became the first player in conference history to accomplish the feat.
This past weekend saw Martin make a combined 13 saves in the two matches. She made six stops in a 1-1 draw on Friday night against Georgia State.
