POINT CLEAR, Ala. – For the first time since 2016, Texas State women's golf won the Sun Belt Conference team championship as the Bobcats beat Georgia Southern in the match play finals on Thursday at the Lakewood Club.
A year after finishing conference runner-up on a playoff hole, the Bobcats bounced back this season with the program's fifth overall conference title and second as a member of the Sun Belt.
Texas State put away Georgia Southern 3-0 in the match play finals in the afternoon. The Bobcats staved off Old Dominion in the semifinals, 3-0, in the morning to advance to the championship match.
