SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State and Mississippi State entered Friday's doubleheader with both teams having won a game in the series within the state of Texas. That remained in tack following both games as the Bobcats won game one, 4-3, before the Bulldogs took the second game 6-2.
"When you play a top-20 team in the country and get a split, you should probably be happy with it, but it would've been nice to get out of here with two today," said Texas State softball head coach Ricci Woodard. "One of the things we talked about (after the game) was not letting being 'good enough' be our energy, because we want to be great, so we can't be satisfied by winning only one of the two games.
