Randi Rupp's one-liner said it all.
"That's a Texas butt'whoopin, I would say," the unabashed sophomore said minutes after the Bobcats collected a 9-5 victory over UT on Wednesday night in front of 1,011 fans inside Bobcat Softball Stadium. It was Texas State's first triumph over the Longhorns since March 24, 2010.
The Bobcats definitely roughed up the visitors in the fifth inning.
Coincidentally enough, Texas State (12-5) rebounded after what may have been a missed call at second base that kept UT (14-3) alive in the top half of the frame. Lindsey Stephens reached second base safely with two outs — even though it appeared that Kelli Baker tagged out the Longhorn senior.
