SAN MARCOS, Texas – After equaling its second-best start in school history and picking up its eighth straight victory, the Texas State men's basketball team is ranked No. 20 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
The Bobcats received 135 points from a panel of 31 mid-major coaches around the country after posting a 77-68 victory at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley last Saturday night.
The victory was Texas State's eighth straight win, the longest winning streak since it won 10 straight games in 1993-94.
The 10-1 start equals Texas State's best start to a season since 1952-53 when the Bobcats also began that year 10-1.
