SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the fourth time in six games, Texas State scored double-digit runs but would fall 18-13 to UTSA on Tuesday at Bobcat Ballpark. It is the highest scoring game ever between the two teams after surpassing the previous mark of 27 runs set last season in San Marcos.
With the result, TXST is now 21-24 on the season while the Roadrunners are 34-10.
Christian Okerholm (2-0) picked up the win after throwing 3.1 innings out of the bullpen with three strikeouts and surrendering just one run. Braylon Owens claimed his second save of the season as he recorded the final four outs on the mound.
