Texas State continues hot start to conference play with sweep of Tuesday’s doubleheader

DECATUR, Ga. — The Texas State softball program kept its impressive start to the 2021 season intact Tuesday afternoon as the Bobcats knocked off Georgia State 6-2 and 9-0.

Texas State (19-3, 4-0) showed why it is undefeated wins this season when scoring first as seniors Tara Oltmann and Hailey MacKay combined to drive in three first-inning runs in the first game on the day.

With a 4-0 lead following Oltmann scoring on a grounder in the top of the third, Bobcat starting pitcher Meagan King (5-1) retired nine of the first 11 batters she faced, before Daisy Hess scored the Panthers' lone run in the game with a solo home run to start the bottom of the fourth.
