Texas State claims rubber match, 12-2, on Sunday

MOBILE, Ala. – The Texas State softball team (11-15, 2-4 Sun Belt) bested the South Alabama Jaguars (10-15, 1-5 Sun Belt) in the rubber match of the three-game conference series by a score of 12-2 on Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field.

KEY MOMENTS
- Texas State scored six runs on six hits in the top of the second inning to seize control of the contest. Junior catcher Haleigh Davis started the hit-parade with an RBI single through the left side of the infield.
- All three starting outfielders: senior Kennedy Cline, freshman Jordyn Smith and junior Christiana McDowell, secured RBI hits in the top of the second inning, while junior infielder Bailee Carter was credited with a sacrifice fly to score the fifth run of the frame.
