Through the first nine innings of Texas State's eventual 9-8 loss to Washington State on Monday night, Jared Huber hit just about everything that was thrown his way.
So when the sophomore catcher stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out in the tenth, the Bobcats, who were trailing by one run at the time, probably thought Huber would come through in the clutch once again. He looked the part of a confident hitter, turning a 1-2 count into a full one, but on this occasion, Cougars reliever Scotty Sunitsch had a trick up his sleeve, a 3-2 fastball that hovered over the left corner of the plate.
