SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Jalen Jones scored 17 points and Texas-Arlington cruised to a 65-53 win over Texas State Tuesday night.
The Mavericks doubled up Texas State in the first half, taking a 32-16 lead into the intermission and pushing the advantage to 52-23 with under eight minutes to play.
The Bobcats were down by 20 points with 2:12 left, but had a late rally to outscore UT-Arlington 12-4 to set the final margin. D'Angelo West was fouled on a field-goal attempt behind the 3-point line and converted all three attempts and Austin Evans dunked with seven seconds left.
