NEW ORLEANS – With her runner-up performance at the Cardinal Challenge, Texas State's Sasikarn Somboonsup was announced as the Sun Belt Conference's Women Golf of the Week on Thursday.
It is the second time in Somboonsup's career that she has received the weekly conference honor. The first time came back on Apr. 12, 2017.
This past Monday and Tuesday Somboonsup carded a 3-over 219 in Beaumont, Texas. Her second-place finish was the best by a Bobcat golfer this season. It was also her third top 10 finish of the year. She posted two rounds at even par or under with both coming on the first day of the event on her way to finishing two shots ahead of the 24th-ranked women's golfer in the nation.
