SAN MARCOS, Texas – Hailey MacKay and Sara Vanderford combined to drive in five runs to lead the Texas State softball team to a 9-5 comeback victory over Vernon College Friday night at Bobcat Softball Stadium. The win was Texas State's fifth straight victory this fall.
MacKay drove in three runs with a home run, single and sacrifice fly. Vanderford added a single and double for two more RBI.
The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when Vernon took a 3-0 lead after Dalilah Barrera surrendered a hit, a walk, and a home run.
