TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the seventh time in school history, the Texas State softball team will compete in the NCAA Regionals after finishing as a runner-up in the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a 39-20 overall record. The Bobcats begin the tournament with a 1:30 p.m. contest on ESPN3 against California.
This is the second time in school history that the 'Cats have received an at large berth and the last trip to the tournament was in 2012 after winning the Southland Conference. This is head coach Ricci Woodard's sixth appearance in the tournament with Texas State.
