SAN MARCOS, Texas — The Texas State University softball coaching staff now has a family feel as head coach Ricci Woodard has tabbed Scott Woodard, her brother, as an assistant coach.
"This is exciting for me, personally, on so many different levels," Woodard said. "Obviously, the first being able to work with my brother is just awesome in itself, but when we factor in his experience also, this will be such a great benefit for the program."
Woodard comes to San Marcos after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach on the University of Alabama – Birmingham (UAB) staff, where he worked primarily with hitting and recruiting duties.
