SAN MARCOS, Texas – The 2021-22 athletic season for Texas State kicks off on Thursday when the Bobcat soccer team hosts I-35 rival UTSA in an exhibition match. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
About Texas State
TXST is coming off a 4-12-1 season in which it recorded a 4-4-0 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The Bobcats return 19 players from last season and welcome eight newcomers.
Kiara Gonzales is the top returning scorer after netting two goals. She and Olivia Wright both were credited with two assists.
