SAN MARCOS, TX — Texas State softball head coach Ricci Woodard announced Tuesday afternoon the addition of Jayden "JJ" Smith to the Bobcat program. Smith, a Rosenberg, Texas native, comes to San Marcos following a two-year stint at the University of Texas.
"JJ is coming to San Marcos with a plethora of experience after playing at a high-caliber program like Texas, which just played for a national championship earlier this month," Woodard said. "I saw firsthand — several times — why she was a unanimous Big 12 Conference All-Freshman team selection in 2021 and we are excited to be able to tap into that potential during her time here.
