SAN MARCOS, Texas – As one of the most accurate kickers in the country, Texas State's Mason Shipley was named a semifinalist for the 2023 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, presented by the Orange Bowl, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced on Thursday.
The Groza Award is given to the nation's top place-kicker each season. Shipley was one of 20 semifinalists named.
Shipley is 11-for-11 in field goals this year, making him one of three FBS kickers with a perfect field goal percentage through the first 10 weeks of the season.
