SAN MARCOS, Texas – The All Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Florida announced that Texas State senior offensive guard Felix Romero is one of 88 players to be considered for the 2016 Wuerffel Trophy.
The Wuerffel Trophy is named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Danny Wuerffel and is given annually to the FBS player that best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
Romero is an Austin native and a three-year starter as a guard for the Bobcats. Last season, he was leading the team in knockdowns through the first four games with 27 before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
