SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State softball team (5-4) will host in-state foe Sam Houston State (4-6) before heading to Tampa to play in the USF-Rawlings Invitational. The Bobcats will take on Virginia Tech (9-0) and USF (4-6) twice each in the tournament.
Texas State enters the weekend off an up-and-down effort at the Troy Cox Classic. The team scored four-plus runs in every game and scored double-digit runs in three of the five matchups but finished with a record of 3-2.
