SAN MARCOS, Texas – After being named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week just hours earlier, Daylan Pena continued his hot streak at the plate with two grand slams in helping Texas State defeat I-35 rival UTSA 14-13 Tuesday night at Bobcat Ballpark.
The Bobcats improved to 12-9 on the season while the Roadrunners dropped to 10-11.
Pena's eight RBI are the most this season by a Bobcat and second highest by a player in the Sun Belt. Over his last five games, the junior has gone 10-for-18 (.556) with five homers and 17 RBI.
