SAN MARCOS, Texas – Nijal Pearson has been named this week's College Sports Madness Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 22.0 points, 4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in Texas State's two victories at Arkansas State on Feb. 14 and Little Rock and on Feb. 16.
Pearson made 53.3 percent (16-30) of his field goal attempts, including 50.0 (6-12) percent of his three-point shots last week. He also shot a team-high 85.7 percent (5-6) at the free throw line.
Pearson began the week helping the Bobcats overcome a 16-point deficit in the first half and coming back to win 84-74 at Arkansas State.
