BOSTON, Mass.– Senior guard Nijal Pearson was one of 50 players listed on the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List earlier this week. The Lou Henson Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.
Pearson is one of three players represented on the preseason list from the Sun Belt Conference (Trhae Mitchell, South Alabama; Ike Smith, Georgia Southern). The Beaumont, Texas native appeared on the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List last season (Jan. 9, 2019).
The winner for the 2019-20 Lou Henson Player of the Year Award will be announced April 2020 in Atlanta, Ga.
