SAN MARCOS, Texas – Sophomore Mattingly Palmer closes out the opening day of the Jim West Challenge at the Kissing Tree Golf Club tied for fourth while Texas State sits in 12th.

The Bobcats are in 12th place in a field of 15 teams, eight of them being ranked in the top-50. Texas State shot 306 in round one but improved to 288 in the final round of the day for 18-over par. The team had a combined 42 birdies and three eagles in two rounds.
