SAN MARCOS, Texas – Junior Isaiah Ortega-Jones drove in five runs as the Texas State baseball team (14-4) defeated Prairie View A&M (4-15) 11-4 Wednesday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark. The victory extended the Bobcats' winning streak to seven games.
Freshman Isaac Ponce (1-0) earned his first collegiate win as he threw three scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Suffering the loss was Caleb Hines (0-1) as he surrendred three runs on three hits and walks.
Cade Bullinger tossed two scoreless innings of relief. Also pitching an inning for TXST were Jacob Little, Matthew Nicholas, Otto Wofford and Dontae Woodard.
