NEW ORLEANS — Texas State's senior shortstop Tara Oltmann has been named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team, the conference announced Monday morning.
Oltmann, a 5-foot-7 right-hander, was the Bobcats' lone representative on the 15-player team, which six members of the preseason favorite Louisiana team including Preseason Player of the Year Alissa Dalton. Louisiana's Summer Ellyson also picked up a major award for the Ragin' Cajuns as she was named the conference's Preseason Pitcher of the Year.
Last season, Oltmann appeared in and started 19 games between the shortstop and designated player positions.
