SAN MARCOS, Texas – Caitlyn Rogers had a pair of extra-base hits while Jessica Mullins and Karsen Pierce combined to strike out 12 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi batters as Texas State picked up a 6-2 midweek win over the Islanders at the Bobcat Softball Stadium on Wednesday.
The Bobcats (7-5) trailed on two occasions in the first three innings, but five unanswered runs over three straight frames helped put the Islanders (9-11) away. Sara Vanderford hit a two-out, game-tying solo home run in the third before a triple by Rogers in the fourth was answered home by a Cat Crenek go-ahead single.
