SAN MARCOS, Texas – Jessica Mullins was named the 2023 Sun Belt Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Sara Vanderford and Ciara Trahan were tabbed as Preseason All-Sun Belt selections alongside Mullins, and Texas State softball was picked second in the preseason coaches poll as the Sun Belt Conference announced its honors ahead of the 2023 campaign on Thursday.
In the annual preseason accolades as voted on by conference coaches, Mullins earned one of the two individual Sun Belt preseason awards, alongside Troy's Kelly Horne who was named the preseason player of the year.
