PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – In the second round of the St. Mary's Invitational taking place at the Poppy Hill Golf Course, the Texas State men's golf team jumped two spots to eighth after firing a 294. Freshman Inigo Benaran moved into a tie for fourth place after shooting a 1-under 70.
The Spaniard recorded his first collegiate round under par thanks to six birdies, four coming on the back nine. After 36 holes, he has fired a 2-over par 144 and is tied with four other golfers.
Fellow freshman Logan Lockwood carded an even par 71.
