SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – Jake Smith put on a performance in the men's 10,000 meters on Thursday, with a meet-record time of 30:58.50 to end day one of the Bobcat Invitational. Smith is ranked 8th in the country for the event and put himself in the Texas State record books, with the 10th-fastest time in school history.
The women's throw squad had an excellent showing for the Bobcats at both the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational on Thursday. At the Texas Relays, Elisabet Runarsdottir, the No. 1 ranked women's hammer thrower, placed second in the meet with a mark of 66.
