SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Bobcat men's basketball legend Donte Mathis will join the program's staff, head coach Terrence "TJ" Johnson announced.
Mathis had a decorated four-year career with the Bobcats where he ranks No. 4 all-time with 1,622 points, No. 16 all-time with 567 rebounds, and No. 4 all-time with 161 steals. Mathis led Texas State to a Southland Conference Championship in 1999 and was the Southland Conference Player of the Year the same season.
Overall, Mathis was a three-time All-Southland Conference selection (1997-99) and made the All-Southland tournament team in 1997 and 1999.
