Most Americans watched from their homes as college students across the nation were sent home not knowing when they could return to campus or how they would finish their spring semester courses.
It was then when a group of Texas State University and Athletics administrators, coaches and support staff began working diligently to ensure that Texas State student-athletes have a chance to finish the spring semester successfully.
While sports competition may seem small in the general scheme of things during these turbulent times, several opportunities were taken from Texas State coaches and student-athletes. From softball's Cat Osterman having to wait another year before competing in the Summer Olympics, to men's basketball's all-time leading scorer being denied a chance to lead the Bobcats to an NCAA Basketball Tournament for the first time since 1997, to seven spring sports having their seasons abruptly end, and Texas State's fall sports missing opportunities to fine-tune their teams in preparation for next season.
