SAN MARCOS, Texas — The 2021 portion of the Texas State women's basketball schedule started the same way the 2020 part ended as the Bobcats knocked off Louisiana, 71-63, to start Sun Belt Conference action.
Under head coach Zenarae Antoine, Texas State is now 7-1 all time in the first Sun Belt game of the season as the Ragin' Cajun become the sixth different team (Little Rock, Troy, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State) the Bobcats have beaten to start SBC play.
"It was quite a game today," Antoine said. "I think everyone knows every time Texas State and Louisiana match up, it'll be one where the game is back and forth and have its highs and lows, but, no matter what, you'll always see two teams out there battling no matter the circumstances.
