NEW ORLEANS – Kavin Gilder-Tilbury had an outstanding homecoming to Hawaii over the weekend to earn the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week honor. He is the first Texas State men's basketball player to earn the honor since the program joined the conference.
The senior forward averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals per game in helping lead the Bobcats to a 2-1 record, the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic title and earned him the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. He also led the team in scoring in each contest while making 21-of-37 shots, was 9-for-18 on three-point attempts and converted 9-of-16 attempts at the free throw line.
