SAN MARCOS, Texas – Following his stellar performance on the mound against Rice in the opener of the 19th Annual Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic, Nicholas Fraze was named the Sun Belt Conference Community Coffee Pitcher of the Week.
The junior right-hander set a career-high with 12 strikeouts with half of them coming in the sixth and seventh innings. He recorded multiple strikeouts in an inning in the first, third and fifth frames, as well.
Fraze took a no-hitter into the seventh inning until the Owls got their lone hit off him, a single, with one out in the frame.
