DALLAS – Junior Wesley Faison was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Second Team at designated hitter on Wednesday. He is the first Texas State player named to a NCBWA preseason team in program history.
Faison led the Bobcats with a .352 batting average, .455 OB%, .704 SLG%, six home runs and 15 RBI during the shortened 2020 season. In 17 games, the Richmond, Texas native recorded 19 hits, 14 runs, drew nine walks and stole a base.
During a stretch from Feb. 29 to Mar. 3, Faison hit a home run in three straight games that was capped off by a two-homer performance in a run-rule victory at Baylor.
