SANDESTIN, Fla. – After the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Texas State men's golf team sits in fourth place at 12-over par 296. Alvaro Carol Estrems paced the team with a 1-under 70 and shares the individual lead.
Starting on the back nine holes, Estrems got off to a strong start with two birdes on holes 11 and 12. Following a bogey on the 14th, the Central Arkansas transfer carded four consecutive birdies to make the turn at 5-under par and take over the top spot on the individual leaderboard.
