Effort is the word that Texas State assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Randall McCray would use on the front page of the New York Times to describe what he wants to see from his defense this spring as the Bobcats conclude their first week of spring practice under new head coach Everett Withers.
"The biggest thing we have to accomplish this spring is great effort," said McCray. "We have got to get to the ball like our hair is on fire. That is our goal this spring."
Withers and the coaching staff are emphasizing the increased effort, being accountable to their teammates and creating turnovers on defense.
