NEW ORLEANS — The red-hot Texas State volleyball program reaped the benefits of two three-set sweeps last week as senior setter Emily DeWalt and senior outside hitter Janell Fitzgerald were chosen as the Sun Belt Conference Setter and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday morning.
The recognition for Fitzgerald marks the second consecutive week the senior has been selected as the conference's top offensive player of the week. It's also the sixth career Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor and seventh — six offensive, one freshman — overall career league weekly honor for the Mansfield, Texas native.
