SAN ANTONIO – A brace by Kaylee Davis propelled the Texas State soccer team to a 3-0 victory Saturday evening over Incarnate Word at Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium.
For roughly the first 20 minutes of the match the Bobcats were adjusting to playing on the turf field while battling a tough Cardinal team. The first breakthrough for TXST came early in the 21st minute when Davis beat a defender one-on-one and then slotted the ball past the goalkeeper into the lower right corner.
Just over a minute later, Davis laid off a short pass to Paige Crossman just inside the penalty box.
