After sophomore pitcher Randi Rupp knifed through South Alabama's lineup during Saturday's first game, Woodard sent her ace to the circle in the nightcap.
Despite a full days work in game one (read: 127 pitches), Rupp still looked fresh as she carried a no hitter into the seventh inning of Texas State's 3-0 victory over the Jaguars inside Bobcat Softball Stadium.
"When Randi Rupp is throwing like that, you have a chance to beat anybody in the country," Woodard said. "The game-time decision to go ahead and keep going with her was obviously an iffy call, but I just felt like she had her best stuff and so we just kept riding it out.
