Forget about the finish.
When the Texas State softball team starts off well, the second part usually follows.
That's exactly what happened during the Bobcats' 4-0 victory over Lamar on Wednesday night inside Bobcat Softball Stadium as Ricci Woodard's team fired out of the gates on all cylinders and relied on a potent one-two punch of Randi Rupp and Quincy Charleston inside the circle to shut down the visitors.
Corrina Liscano yanked an RBI single down the right-field line, Jaelyn Young ripped a two-run double into the gap and Texas State (25-15) hung a three up on the scoreboard in the first inning.
