TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Ever since its opening game loss to California on Friday, Texas State was up against the eight ball at the Tuscaloosa Regional.
The Bobcats staved off elimination once with a 2-0 blanking of Samford on Saturday afternoon, but the clock struck midnight in the nightcap.
Despite seeing Texas State battle back from an early deficit, the Golden Bears, who were also in an elimination game after a loss to regional host and No. 6 national seed Alabama, did their thing on the base paths, especially during the fifth inning, and the Bobcats' season ended in the form of a 4-3 defeat.
