Similar to fellow junior Granger Studdard, the left hander elected to forgo his senior campaign at Texas State and agree to terms with a major league club, Hennigan told the Daily Record on Thursday afternoon. He signed with the Philadelphia Phillies for an undisclosed amount.

During his only season with the Bobcats, Hennigan, who played two years at Galveston College, posted a 3.13 ERA across 63 1/3 innings to go with 64 strikeouts.
